Apologize. And be the first to apologize. Place our temper tantrums aside (i.e., "They have to apologize to me first."). We hold the power, therefore we take responsibility and model restorative behavior.
Listen.
Validate. We don't have to agree with what was said to acknowledge the risk, courage, and vulnerability of someone with less power who stands up for their beliefs.
Create safety.
